Athun – red-skinned hominoid life-forms that are honor-based and theocratic. While hair color may range anywhere between white and yellow, their eye color is wholly contained to the range of yellow. They worship the five-armed deity named Nyx’Zynkor.

Austral – the direction of East

Bindamu – [been-DAY-moo] the characterization of all life-forms that walk on two legs.

BroSohnti – gray-brown skinned hominoids that are a race of expansionist-conquerors. Large in stature and physically powerful, they fight for the sake of fighting. They were so powerful that they were able to attack the Malgovi and Vinthur at the same time and drive them from their homeworld.

Castor – base name given to those who manipulate MannA, a sentient energy, in the form of spells. They can go from there and specialize in wizardry, sorcery, elemental conjuring, etc.

Deketal – (M) [DECK-et-uhl] a decade, or ten years.

Deku System – the system of planets that the Malgovi call home.

Driahdré – (M) [DREE-ah-dray] the assumed abode of righteous spirits after their demise. In K’Vo, the term is Ky’Zhanbior [Kie-ZHAN-be-or].

Dungi – (V) [DONE-gee] K’Vo for excrement.

Dwanstar – (M) a newborn star. In the Malgovi culture it is called a perfect thing in a perfect time.

EnerJa – [en-er-JHA] the name given to the fuel behind the generation of non-sentient energy forms.

EnervationisT – a life-path of one who is dedicated to the wielding of EnerJa. Most Malgovi are born with the ability.

Exemplar – (M) a rank in the Mal-Vin Militia. It is a Team Leader with distinction or specialty that separates them from the norm.

F-J

Faster than Light – a type of drive for a vessel, called VQI Drives (or Vicky) which stands for ‘veloci qui illuminus in the Rims and Hyperiro Speed among the Malgovi and Vinthur.

Founders, The – the name given to the Mal-Vin who were the first to demonstrate innate Energy-wielding capability. They are attributed with having developed the powers that aided in the defeat of the BroSohnti. It was also used to refer to Zeu Rex and the Family from The Rims.

Gere – a unit of mass. Approximately the same as one gram.

Grenbi – a sentient, shape-changing life-form that lives to consume energy. No one knows where they come from, but they plague both the systems of the Malgovi and the Vinthur, making necessary a maintained Mal-Vin Militia.

Hendeca-term – a month in the Malgovi/Vinthur calendar. Each one is 32 star-terms long.

Hominoid – a biological form, possessing two legs, two arms and a head.

House Rankings – the hierarchy of family status and influence. The Cadre is the lowest echelon, barely receiving anything other than the ability to possess a name. It is the term to most families in Malgovi culture. The Kith is only slightly more powerful than the Cadre, possessing either property or a noted skill. The House ranking is given to those who have received either attention of favor from the throne.

Iro – [EYE-row] light/energy

Iro-Curtain – an energy barrier usually deployed as a protective shield.

Iroform – [EYE-row-form] an expressed form of energy.

Iro-Gell – one who is highly skilled in the manipulation of energies, requiring that knowledge of at least three be demonstrated to even be considered for the title. Gellvu refers to male masters while Gellvi is a female master.

Iro-Suit – clothing and/or armour designed to assist the EnervationisT conserve power and focus their iroform expressions.

Jump Stride – SEE Stride.

K-O

KaA – [Kah-AY] the name given to the work unit of expressed faith.

K’Dalkian System – the system of planets the Vinthur call home.

Kraythe – [krayth] a word shared in both Liangu and K’Vo languages referring to a short but blade.

Kulri-Kraythe – (M) Liangu for ‘the blade that doesn’t miss’.

Kulrithe – [KUHL-rith] a word shared in both K’Vo and Liangu languages referring to a sturdy and impressive sword.

K’Vo – (V) [KAY-voh] the tongue of the Vinthur. It is not the same dialect spoken when they were on their homeworld. Words have been changed due to the coming of The Founders and The Campus as well as their time when the fought alongside the Malgovi.

Kwilek – [KWEYE-leck] a hominoid life-form, diminutive when compared to the Malgovi or Vinthur. They stand anywhere from 25 – 50 centimeters tall. Not much is known about them save for the fact that they are from an unknown dimension.

Liangu – (M) [lee-AHN-goo] the tongue of the Malgovi.

MaGem – a type of Castor, usually finding and/or focusing their spells through gemstones. Often referred to a Stone Mages.

Maior Nathu – [MY-or nah-THU] often called the Elders, not much is known of these mysterious and incredibly powerful creatures. They have been mistaken for gods and even angels. They are creators and protectors of creation. One of their banished members is responsible for the destruction of Old Earth and the creation of Neve.

Malgovi – [mal-GO-vee] blue-gray skinned hominoids possessing incredible intellect. Most of their kind is born with an innate ability to wield iro. Their iroforms can vary from simple electricity to directed amplified light (lasers) and photonic emissions.

Mal-Vin – the name given to the militia that patrols and protects the Deku & K’Dalkian Systems.  They are 88.75% Vinthur which is not a well-known fact.  Despite these numbers, the Malgovi Queen is still considered the monarch of both regions and they remain quite loyal.

MannA – the semi-sentient energy generated in allow Castor to invoke spells.

Mendacanti – a group of foragers that move about in the Realm Astral, picking up whatever they can find.  With the way the Realm Astral works, they are just about ALWAYS picking up something.  At the heart of things, they are pirates and often steal from one another.

Mind Castor – (V) despite what the name might imply, these are wielders of ThoughtWill and are the masters of the possibilities of the mind.

Naxia – [NACK-zee-ah] the direction of North.

Neyeh – (V) [neh-YAY] a very strong stated disagreement or refusal in the K’Vo language.

Nyaka – (V) [NIE-ah-kah] the K’Vo word given to one’s most special beloved. A term usually exchanged between mates.

Nyx’Zynkor – (A) [nicks-ZIN-core] the deity of the Athun; a large and intimidating horned figure with four hands. In his lower pairs he holds various stylized archaic weaponry. His upper arms grasp forearms or fists, and there is a fifth arm that protrudes out of the back between a pair of large leathery wings; that hand, without fail, always cradles a small child. The symbolism suggests that the Athun are fierce warriors but their aggression cannot be without reason as brotherhood is praised above combat and the protection of the young/future is their top priority.

Octi-star – a week in the Malgovi calendar. 8 star-terms. 4 octi-stars make a hendeca-term.

Old Earth – a reference to the time when Terrans (humans) were last on the planet Earth and thriving; ranging from the twenty-first to the thirty-first centuries.

Olig – meaning 1,000. It is normally used as a prefix to another word (i.e. olig-tram = 1,000 trams)

Orbi-term – one year on the Malgovi calendar. 8 star-terms is an octi-star. 4 octi-stars make a hendeca-term and 11 hendeca-terms make an orbi-term.

Orov – gigantic creatures that feed on ambient energy to sustain themselves. Often taken for slow, they are surprisingly agile though not necessarily as strong as they might appear.

P-T

Pax’Dulah – a system of movements (tumbling and acrobatics) named after Traybus Gan Pax’Dulah is a Malgovi hero of the ancient times. He is noted for his wisdom and his abilities both with the energies and his body.

Pharos – (M) a beacon or boundary marker.

Plastiform – a very sturdy, biodegradable plastic used in the making of everything from cups and plates to furniture, to building materials.  Unformatted, plastiform was always in liquid form. To get the material to harden, all it took was the introduction of a chemical agent, known as zaldric acid, followed quickly a bombardment of radiation as the material is being cast into a mold or formed by hand.

Prel’Dethiak – six-armed hominoids known for their gifts with the illusory sciences. They tend to be very emotional though they can be reasoned with from time to time.

Quadrinial – seasonal. The Malgovi orbi-term has four seasons.

Radient – sentient energy taking humanoid form. They were created by Arrjeeh and Elder before they departed The Campus.

Rangeman – a Malgovi soldier.  They are known for their accuracy with range weapons.

Realm Astral – the realm between realms (often called the Astral Realm).  It is comprised of 27 sectors (a cube that runs 3x3x3).  All of the doors* empty into the Center Sector (Sector 14) which is called Centren.

Sastra Region – a continent on the planet Threm. It is located near the center of the fourth quadrant and it is where the megacity of TehShagu is located.

Savanté – a secret society comprised of Malgovi and Vinthur who make up most of their number. They are masters of ThoughtWill and hold secret the knowledge of The Campus and the teachers of the true Founders.

Schatten-Kraythe – the organization of Malgovi and Vinthur who are opposed to standings of the throne and the K’Dalkian Council. They see Dungias – and his participation in the games – as their moment in time to make themselves known and start to make the changes necessary to save their people.

Shay-Dorra – (M) in Malgovi culture, the resting place for wayward, worthless, and destructive souls. Hell as opposed to Driahdré’s heaven.

ShoSoro’s – a well-known chain of restaurants that cater mostly to the Mal-Vin and Travelers.  They are pricy, but they serve the finest food of the more known establishments.

Slide-sled – a common and simple vehicle in Malgovi technology. It generates a low-level anti-gravity field to keep it nearly without any mass and propulsion units push it along the surface. They are fairly fast vehicles and with some fine-tuning, they can even break the speed of sound.

Sopki Oil – a product that is used on much of the machinery.  It provides protection from energy discharge as it conducts most energies around the area of whatever the oil is applied to.

Soxia – [SEW-zee-ah] the direction of South

Stars – from the Vinthur perspective, they are sentient, living creatures, existing in many dimensions simultaneously. The Malgovi were at one time in full agreement with this perspective. Over time, however, it is practiced less and less.

Star-term – a day. 30 s’tonki.

Star-Stride – SEE Stride

Star-walk – to move in a zero-gravity environment. Basic Training for a member of the Mal-Vin Militia.

S’tonki – the equivalent of an hour or 60 tonki.

Stride – a means by which a practitioner can detect and affect the seams of Time & Space. Seeing through the Stride can allow the practitioner to glimpse the future. The Jump-Stride allows the practitioner to fold space effectively teleporting incredible distances. The Star-Stride enables one to move at nearly blinding speed.

Tanku – a measure of time, equivalent to one second.

Terran – the name given to humans no matter what sub-tribe to which they might belong. When the term is applied to describe the race of an individual, either their true race is not known or they are simply being lumped together.

ThoughtWill – the work unit of energized thought. Properly applied, it enables telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, etc.

Threm – a planet in the Deku System. One of the five planets there that support life.

Tohgrunn – a reptilian-hominid race, normally conditioned for combat. They are expansionist and usually go on raiding parties for technology and scientists.

Tonki – 60 tanku.

Tram – a unit of measure regarding distance. It is equal to one meter.

T’Sarr – (V) [the-SAR] a body or sacred form, most often referring to something celestial.

U-Z

Vek (V) – a canine bred for hunting and/or combat.

Venkaldolis – it is a condition occurring in the Vinthur though not for some time. Often called the Hard Chest.  When older Vinthur visit processed atmospheres, the tissue of the lungs begins to burn and the lungs cease to function.

Vestra – the direction West.

Vinthur – [VIN-ther] yellow skinned hominoids that at one time shared the same homeworld with the Malgovi, until they too were forced to flee by the BroSohnti. Since the time of The Founders, a few of the Vinthur are born with an innate sense of MannA manipulation. They hold no prejudice or perspective over those born without the gift. Though they make excellent explorers, Vinthur prefer nature over technology.

Vitaception – called sensus vitae, it is the sense of life which is responsible for the generation of the sense of sight, sound, taste, touch, hearing, thought, etc.

Vohlterran – the race of life indigenous to the Inner Rim. Coming extremely close to resembling Earth Terrans, it has been questioned more than once if Earth Terrans are what became of the Talnuri, or the Gray Tribe.

Void – the name the Malgovi and the Vinthur have given to Outer Space.

Xaxx – [Zacks] (V) if Ky’Zhanbior is heaven, surely Xaxx is hell. There are types of Castors who are able to commune with spirits locked away in the Lifeless Realm.
